STOP The Pain Program is not a "typical" massage like images represent online or that you may have experienced in the past. STOP The Pain Program is an outcome based, goal focused collaborative therapeutic session between you and the therapist.
Sessions are usually clothed as you are on/off the table testing and checking for movement and pain level. There is consistent check-ins and conversation happening while on the table to ensure you and therapist are on the same page. This is a PARTNERSHIP and you are contributing to your session the whole time. There is no snoozing or sleeping in these sessions. These are active working therapeutic sessions.
You will be assigned homework and movements to reinforce the progress reached in each session to ensure the progress continues and reduction of pain is experienced and maintained.
During your in office Initial Consultation, your range of motion, muscular strength/weaknesses, and posture (while sitting, walking and standing) will be assessed. A full history will be gathered on other therapies you have tried and talk about any of your other health concerns. Based on the findings, a complete action plan will be designed to provide you the quickest pain relief and the most comprehensive improvements we believe we can accomplish with you!
This visit will also include a targeted session of to begin your journey to reduced pain. A series of 3-5 additional follow-up sessions will be scheduled 2-4 days apart to ensure continued reduction in pain through repetitive bio-neuromuscular re-education.
After your initial consultation session, we will determine the length of session, frequency, and number of session we believe will be necessary to address your pain. Typically 2-4 additional follow-up sessions will be recommended over a course of 2-3 weeks.
The closeness in sessions and receptiveness aid in the re-education of your muscles as well as reinforces healthy movement patterns and usage.
